Having food and cleaning supplies is not enough!
Most people have been going to the supermarket multiple times, waiting in long lines for food and cleaning supplies to be prepared for the Corona Virus but that’s not the only preparation you need to work on. Have you thought that your immune system needs to be prepared for any type of infection or illness? Yes, your body needs extra help to keep you safe from any bacteria or virus, especially if the virus is highly contagious like the Corona Virus.
As a registered dietitian I ‘m here to support you during this trying times! In addition, I have put together some helpful tips for you:
Drink plenty of water. Water will help you eliminate toxins and substances that can cause illness in your body. It also helps maintain a proper metabolism, which means that nutrients will be better absorb and the excess of them will be eliminated via gastrointestinal system.
Take daily multivitamins with minerals. Vitamins help manage your immune system!
Get multivitamins with a high percentage of vitamin C which is the biggest immune system booster among vitamins. Vitamin E is also important because it is an antioxidant to fight against infections. The last recommendation is vitamin B6, which is used for preventing and treating low levels of pyridoxine deficiency and can help with feelings of depression.
Get multivitamins with minerals. Cooper, Zinc and selenium that are important to prevent or limit bacterial and viral infections.
Eat right. Eating healthy food choices is critical to stay away from illness and infections.
