Amanda Marks, LMHC (FL), LPC (GA and SC), CPCS (GA)
Eating Disorders and Trauma Specialist
Hi, I’m Amanda Marks, a licensed psychotherapist and the founder of Resilient Counseling, practicing at Home For Balance Psychotherapy Group, LLC. I specialize in helping adults and young women navigate trauma, anxiety, perfectionism, burnout, and eating disorders/disordered eating. With a compassionate and personalized approach, I aim to support clients on their journey toward healing and self-acceptance.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Georgia and a Master’s in Psychology with a Counseling specialty from Argosy University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and South Carolina, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Florida, and a Certified Professional Clinical Supervisor in Georgia. My practice is grounded in evidence-based modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, which I offer in both standard sessions and intensive formats. I also use ACT, DBT, RO-DBT, in addition to being IFS informed.

My clinical experience includes working on inpatient units and providing day programming to adolescents and women with eating disorders and trauma. I have offered clinical supervision and direction to substance abuse and eating disorder treatment centers, in addition to the many recent graduates in Georgia starting their professional licensure journey. I am passionate about promoting a neutral body image through body acceptance, and I advocate for Intuitive Eating and weight-neutral approaches. I also lead yoga workshops for stress management and anxiety in addition to facilitating retreats for women seeking to heal their relationship with themselves and reconnect to the Self.

At Resilient Counseling, we provide in-person therapy in Georgia and Florida, and virtual sessions across Georgia, South Carolina, Vermont, and Florida. Our services are designed to meet you where you are, offering flexibility and support as you work toward healing and growth.

Beyond the therapy room, I contribute to publications like Yoga Journal, Shape, Spirituality & Health, and Well + Good, sharing insights on body image, anxiety, and genuine and accessible wellness. As a 500-hour yoga teacher, I integrate principles of yoga into my therapeutic approach, recognizing the profound connection between mind and body in the healing process. I also enjoy teaching yoga classes. Personally, I spend my time between Atlanta and here in South Florida with my husband and adult stepsons.
